"यततो ह्यपि कौन्तेय पुरुषस्य विपश्चितः | इन्द्रियाणि प्रमाथीनि हरन्ति प्रसभं मनः"

"yatato hy api kaunteya puruṣasya vipaścitaḥ | indriyāṇi pramāthīni haranti prasabhaṃ manaḥ"

For, oh son of Kuntī, even for the man of discernment striving, the turbulent senses violently seize the mind

The problem of the senses: pramāthīni (killing, violently disturbing). They are wild forces, not neutral instruments.

Vipaścitaḥ api (even for the man of discernment). Sense control is not achieved once and for all; it requires constant vigilance.

Prasabham (violently, by force) haranti (seize, steal) manaḥ (the mind). The mind is vulnerable to sensory capture. The yogin must always be alert.
