The knowledge born of discernment is liberating, encompasses all objects, all conditions, and is instantaneous.

Tāraka is liberating, that which causes crossing. Sarvaviṣaya is all objects. Sarvathāviṣaya is in all ways, all conditions. Akrama is without sequence, instantaneous. Vivekaja is born of discernment.

This sutra describes the qualities of perfect discriminative knowledge:

Tāraka: liberating. This knowledge carries one across the ocean of saṃsāra. It is not sterile information but salvific wisdom.

Sarvaviṣaya: encompasses all objects. Nothing is beyond its reach.

Sarvathāviṣaya: in all ways. It knows objects in all their aspects: past, present, future, gross, subtle.

Akrama: without sequence. It does not need time to operate. Knowledge is immediate, instantaneous.

This is the supreme knowledge that eternally distinguishes puruṣa from prakṛti.

It is the culmination of the Vibhūti Pāda: from powers to knowledge, from knowledge to liberation.
