रजस्
Rajas
conceptoPassion, activity, dynamism. The second of the three guna-s, rajas generates movement, desire, and mental agitation. In BG 14.7, Kṛṣṇa describes rajas as the source of thirst for action and bondage to karman; one under its dominance is rājasī, bound to fruition and enterprise. In Sāṃkhya, rajas is the force that drives manifestation, equidistant between the luminosity of sattva and the inertia of tamas.
