Granthi

Knot, psychic obstruction. The three granthis are obstacles that block the ascent of kundalini through sushumna: brahma-granthi at [[muladhara-chakra|muladhara]], vishnu-granthi at anahata, and rudra-granthi at [[ajna-chakra|ajña]]. Each granthi anchors consciousness at a level of identification — body, prāṇa, mind — and dissolves only through sustained practice of prāṇāyāma and dhyāna. They represent attachment to different levels of existence: the physical, the emotional, and the mental. Their dissolution is a prerequisite for the full awakening of inner energy.
