मिच्छा
Micchā
paliWrong, false, perverted — the [[Pali]] equivalent of Sanskrit mithyā. Most famously appearing in micchā-diṭṭhi (wrong view), the first and most fundamental of the [[Ten Fetters]].
Wrong view includes denial of karma and rebirth, belief in a permanent self, or the idea that actions have no consequences. It is the root distortion from which all other unwholesome states arise.
Its opposite, sammā (right, correct), prefixes the factors of the [[Noble Eightfold Path]]. The entire path can be understood as the gradual replacement of micchā with sammā in every domain of life.
