Suṣupti

Deep sleep state. Third of the three states of consciousness (avasthā-traya).

In Māṇḍūkya Upaniṣad, suṣupti corresponds to prājña — consciousness at rest, without objects, an undifferentiated mass of bliss. The causal body (kāraṇa śarīra) is its vehicle. Beyond these three states lies turīya, the fourth.
