Chapter 18 · Verse 56

सन्तुष्टोऽपि न सन्तुष्टः खिन्नोऽपि न च खिद्यते

santuṣṭo'pi na santuṣṭaḥ khinno'pi na ca khidyate | tasyāścaryadaśāṃ tāṃ tāṃ tād

In chapter 18 (Janaka’s liberation), verse 56 deepens the teaching of non-duality. In Advaita Vedānta philosophy, this verse of the Aṣṭāvakra Gītā reveals that freedom is inherent to the Self and requires no acquisition.
