Chapter 18 · Verse 58

अकुर्वन्नपि सङ्क्षोभाद् व्यग्रः सर्वत्र मूढधीः

akurvannapi saṅkṣobhād vyagraḥ sarvatra mūḍhadhīḥ | kurvannapi tu kṛtyāni kuśalo

In chapter 18 (Janaka’s liberation), verse 58 deepens the teaching of non-duality. In Advaita Vedānta philosophy, this verse of the Aṣṭāvakra Gītā reveals that freedom is inherent to the Self and requires no acquisition.
