Prārabdha

concepto

Prārabdha (प्रारब्ध) is the karma that has already begun to manifest — the portion of past actions that has fructified in the present incarnation and must be exhausted. Classical doctrine distinguishes three modalities of karma: sañcita (accumulated, in reserve), prārabdha (in action, already unfolded), and āgāmī (future, yet to be generated). Even the jīvan-mukta, liberated in life, continues to experience prārabdha-karma until the natural exhaustion of the body. The Śiva-saṃhitā and the Upaniṣads stress that prārabdha is irrevocable: it has already taken root. See karma, samsara.
