समान
Samāna
concepto“Equal,” “equalizer.” One of the five principal vāyu. Samāna vāyu operates in the abdominal region, governing digestion and assimilation — of both food and sensory impressions.
When samāna is balanced, the digestive fire (jaṭharāgni) burns properly and prana distributes evenly. In yoga, nauli and agnisāra work directly on this region. Dysfunction of samāna manifests as poor digestion and scattered mind. See vayu.
