सूर्यनाडी

Sūryanāḍī

concepto

Solar nāḍī, synonymous with [[pingala-nadi]]. Sūrya-nāḍī is the subtle right-hand channel that runs parallel to [[susumna|sushumna]]. In the Haṭha-pradīpikā and the Śiva-saṃhitā, it is described as the conduit of heating, solar energy (sūrya = sun), associated with the masculine principle (śiva) and the left cerebral hemisphere. Breathing through the right nostril is termed sūrya-svarā and favors dynamic, digestive, and outwardly active functions. The aim of haṭha-yoga is to balance candra-nāḍī and sūrya-nāḍī to awaken [[susumna|sushumna]].
