This universe is mere confusion (bhrānti-mātra), nothing at all. Having concluded this, one who is free of desire (nirvāsana), pure awareness (sphūrti-mātra), desires nothing. The progression from confusion to clarity is not a change in the Self but a dissolution of the appearance that obscured it.
