This verse states the most radical implication of non-duality: out of ignorance (ajñāna), the universe appears to belong to you; in truth (paramārthataḥ), you are one alone. There is no other soul wandering in saṃsāra, nor any soul outside it. This dissolves the fundamental duality between the bound and the liberated, the afflicted and the free. The distinction between saṃsāra and mokṣa itself belongs to ignorance; from the standpoint of the Self, only the one Brahman is.
