Chapter 18 · Verse 42

भावस्य भावकः कश्चिन् न किञ्चिद् भावकोपरः

bhāvasya bhāvakaḥ kaścin na kiñcid bhāvakoparaḥ | ubhayābhāvakaḥ kaścid evameva

In chapter 18 (Janaka’s liberation), verse 42 deepens the teaching of non-duality. In Advaita Vedānta philosophy, this verse of the Aṣṭāvakra Gītā reveals that freedom is inherent to the Self and requires no acquisition.
