Chapter 18 · Verse 84
निःस्नेहः पुत्रदारादौ निष्कामो विषयेषु च
niḥsnehaḥ putradārādau niṣkāmo viṣayeṣu ca | niścintaḥ svaśarīre'pi nirāśaḥ śobh
In chapter 18 (Janaka’s liberation), verse 84 deepens the teaching of non-duality. In Advaita Vedānta philosophy, this verse of the Aṣṭāvakra Gītā reveals that freedom is inherent to the Self and requires no acquisition.
