Dhṛṣṭaketu, Cekitāna, and the king of Kāśī of great heroism, Purujit, Kuntibhoja, and Śaibya, the bull among men

A list of allied warriors of the Pāṇḍavas. Each name represents a kingdom: Dhṛṣṭaketu (Cedi), Cekitāna (another allied kingdom), Kāśirāja (Vārāṇasī), Purujit (Kuntibhoja is the title of the king of Kunti), Śaibya (kingdom of Śibi).

vīryavān (of great vīrya, heroic energy) qualifies the whole group. These are not mere soldiers but mahārathaḥ (great warriors capable of fighting against 10,000 simultaneously).

nara-puṅgavaḥ (bull among men) is the epithet of Śaibya, suggesting strength and nobility.
