Vijñāna Yoga · Verse 7
मत्तः परतरं नान्यत्किञ्चिदस्ति धनञ्जय | मयि सर्वमिदं प्रोतं सूत्रे मणिगणा इव
mattaḥ parataraṃ nānyat kiñcid asti dhanañjaya | mayi sarvam idaṃ protaṃ sūtre maṇi-gaṇā iva
Oh Dhanañjaya! There is nothing superior to Me. All this is strung on Me, like gems are strung on a thread.
Absolute negation: na anyat kiñcit parataram asti — nothing higher exists, nothing greater. Kṛṣṇa is the parama-brahman, the absolute without a second.
The analogy of sūtra (thread) and maṇi-gaṇa (group of gems): the thread holds the gems but is not visible. Thus Kṛṣṇa is the invisible substratum that sustains the entire visible universe.
