Akṣara-Parabrahman Yoga · Verse 25

धूमो रात्रिस्तथा कृष्णः षण्मासा दक्षिणायनम् | तत्र चान्द्रमसं ज्योतिर्योगी प्राप्य निवर्तते

dhūmo rātris tathā kṛṣṇaḥ ṣaṇ-māsā dakṣiṇāyanam | tatra cāndramasaṃ jyotir yogī prāpya nivartate

Smoke, night, the dark fortnight, the six months of the southern course — the yogi who reaches the lunar light returns.

The path of darkness (dhūma-ādi-mārga): dhūmaḥ (smoke) → rātriḥ (night) → kṛṣṇaḥ (dark fortnight) → ṣaṇ-māsā dakṣiṇāyanam (six months of the southern sun).

Lunar light (cāndramasaṃ jyotiḥ) as final stage. The yogī who goes by this path prāpya nivartate — reaches and returns, reincarnates. It is pitṛ-yāna, “path of the ancestors,” which leads to temporary celestial worlds and then return.
