Akṣara-Parabrahman Yoga · Verse 24
अग्निर्ज्योतिरहः शुक्लः षण्मासा उत्तरायणम् | तत्र प्रयाता गच्छन्ति ब्रह्म ब्रह्मविदो जनाः
agnir jyotir ahaḥ śuklaḥ ṣaṇ-māsā uttarāyaṇam | tatra prayātā gacchanti brahma brahma-vido janāḥ
Fire, light, day, the bright fortnight, the six months of the northern course — departing then, those who know Brahman go to Brahman.
The path of light (arcir-ādi-mārga): agniḥ → jyotiḥ → ahaḥ → śuklaḥ (bright fortnight of the moon) → ṣaṇ-māsāḥ uttarāyaṇam (six months when sun moves north, winter solstice to summer).
Brahma-vidaḥ — knowers of Brahman — gacchanti brahma — go to Brahman. This is the uttarāyaṇa, the “path of the gods” (deva-yāna), which leads to mokṣa (liberation).
