अर्जुन उवाच | परं ब्रह्म परं धाम पवित्रं परमं भवान् | पुरुषं शाश्वतं दिव्यमादिदेवमजं विभुम्
arjuna uvāca | paraṃ brahma paraṃ dhāma pavitraṃ paraṃ bhavān | puruṣaṃ śāśvataṃ divyam ādi-devam ajaṃ vibhum
Arjuna said: You are the Supreme Brahman, the supreme abode, the supreme purifier; the eternal Person, divine, the primordial God, unborn, omnipenetrating.
Arjuna’s confession after hearing about the vibhūtis. Param brahma — Supreme Brahman — the absolute reality. Param dhāma — supreme abode — to whom one returns.
Śāśvataṃ puruṣam — eternal Person — the Lord is puruṣa, person, not impersonal. Divyam — divine, transcendental. Ādi-devam — primordial God — source of all the devas.
Ajam vibhum — unborn and omnipenetrating — eternal and present in every place and moment.
