न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते । तत्स्वयं योगसंसिद्धः कालेनात्मनि विन्दति

na hi jñānena sadṛśaṃ pavitram iha vidyate | tat svayaṃ yoga-saṃsiddhaḥ kālenātmani vindati

For there is no purifier here equal to knowledge. That, by itself, one who has perfected yoga, with time finds in the Self.

Knowledge as the supreme purification.

Na hi jñānena sadṛśam — for there is nothing equal to knowledge. No ritual, no external practice equals jñāna.

Pavitram — purifier. What removes impurities, fundamentally ignorance.

Iha — here, in this world. In the human sphere, knowledge is supreme.

Tat svayam — That by itself. Brahman self-reveals.

Yoga-saṃsiddhaḥ — one who has perfected yoga. The mature, consummated practitioner.

Kālena — with time, gradually. Realization as a maturing process.

Ātmani vindati — finds in the Self. Not outside but within, not elsewhere but here.

Yoga prepares; knowledge liberates. Without preparation, knowledge does not arise; without knowledge, preparation does not culminate.
