Why should they not bow to You, oh great Soul, greater than Brahmā, the original creator? Oh infinite, Lord of gods, abode of the universe, You are the imperishable, the existent and non-existent, and that which is beyond both.
Kasmāt — why — na nameran — should they not bow. Mahātman — great Soul. Garīyase — greater.
Brahmaṇaḥ api ādi-kartre — even than Brahmā, the original creator. Ananta — infinite. Deveśa — Lord of gods. Jagat-nivāsa — abode of the universe.
Akṣaram — imperishable. Sat asat — the existent and the non-existent. Tat param yat — that which is beyond both.
