अनन्त

Ananta

concepto

Infinite, endless. Ananta names what lacks limit in both spatial and temporal dimensions. In Yogasūtra 2.47, Patañjali prescribes meditation on ananta — infinitude — as a means to perfect [[āsana]], dissolving all tension between body and space. In Vedic cosmology, Ananta is Śeṣa Nāga, the cosmic serpent that sustains the worlds, and also a name of Viṣṇu. The Upaniṣads identify ananta with Brahman itself.
