Sāṅkhya Yoga · Verse 41

"व्यवसायात्मिका बुद्धिरेकेह कुरुनन्दन | बहुशाखा ह्यनन्ताश्च बुद्धयोऽव्यवसायिनाम्"

"vyavasāyātmikā buddhir ekeha kuru-nandana | bahu-śākhā hy anantāś ca buddhayo 'vyavasāyinām"

Here, oh delight of the Kurus, the wisdom of determination is one; but the wisdoms of the undetermined are many-branched and infinite

The problem of doubt: vyavasāyātmikā buddhiḥ (buddhi characterized by determination) is ekā (one). Yoga requires singular focus, not conceptual proliferation.

Avyavasāyinām (of the undetermined) buddhayaḥ (wisdoms) are bahu-śākhāḥ (of many branches) and anantāḥ (infinite). Each doubt generates more doubts; each unanswered question generates more questions.

The point is epistemological: true knowledge is one; confusion is multiple. Eka (one) vs ananta (infinite).
