"भोगैश्वर्यप्रसक्तानां तयापहृतचेतसाम् | व्यवसायात्मिका बुद्धिः समाधौ न विधीयते"
"bhoga-aiśvarya-prasaktānāṃ tayā apahṛta-cetasām | vyavasāyātmikā buddhiḥ samādhi na vidhīyate"
For those attached to enjoyment and power, of minds stolen away by that, the wisdom of determination is not established in concentration
The condition of attachment: bhoga-aiśvarya-prasaktānām (for those attached to enjoyment and dominion). Their mind is apahṛta-cetasaḥ (of mind stolen away/removed) — sensory attraction disperses attention.
Consequence: vyavasāyātmikā buddhiḥ (wisdom of determination) na vidhīyate (is not established) samādhi (in concentration/absorption). Samādhi requires unperturbed focus.
The progression is causal: attachment → dispersion → inability to concentrate → impossibility of samādhi.
