Sāṅkhya Yoga · Verse 53

"श्रुतिविप्रतिपन्ना ते यदा स्थास्यति निश्चला | समाधावचला बुद्धिस्तदा योगमवाप्स्यसि"

"śruti-vipratipannā te yadā sthāsyati niścalā | samādhāv acalā buddhis tadā yogam avāpsyasi"

When your intellect, confounded by the Vedas, remains motionless and stable in concentration, then you will attain yoga

The intentional paradox: śruti-vipratipannā (confounded by śruti). Excessive study of Veda produces doctrinal confusion (vipratipanna = off course).

The stabilization: niścalā (without movement) sthāsyati (will remain) samādhi (in concentration). When intellect ceases its conceptual agitation, yoga is attained.

Avāpsyasi (you will attain) — yoga as a state, not as practice. Inner calm precedes union.
