Śivasaṃhitā 4.75

The mṛtyuñjaya — ‘the one who conquers death’ — is one of Śiva’s own epithets: the practitioner who masters bindu is granted functional identity with the Lord of the Siddhas. Victory over death (mṛtyujaya) here is not ordinary physical immortality but the overcoming of identification with the mortal body, the state of jīvanmukti in which physical death is merely a minor event in the continuity of consciousness.

Ṣaṇmāsa — six months, a semester — is the same period prescribed in verse 50 for mastery of Uḍḍīyānabandha, creating temporal coherence in the text’s promises: the greater siddhis require semestral consistency, not instantaneous heroism. Niścitam (‘certainly, without doubt’) adds guarantee to the promise, transforming possibility into certainty conditioned on practice.

The invocation of Pārvatī in the middle of this section — he pārvatī, ‘O Pārvatī!’ — is an emphasis device of Śaiva discourse: when the text points to the highest teaching, Śiva directly addresses his consort. The promise that ‘even the inaccessible glory of my divinity’ (mama aiśvaryam… durlabham) can be reached through vindu-siddhi is theologically radical: deification not as metaphor but as real possibility for the committed practitioner.
