Saptama-prakaraṇam (Dhāraṇā) · Verse 9
एवं ध्यानपरो नित्यं योगी याति परं पदम् । निर्वाणमक्षयं शान्तिं ब्रह्मभूतो भवेत् सदा ॥
evaṃ dhyānaparo nityaṃ yogī yāti paraṃ padam | nirvāṇamakṣayaṃ śāntiṃ brahmabhūto bhavet sadā ||
This concluding verse of Prakaraṇa 7 offers a potent summary of the yogī’s ultimate aim: union with Brahman. The attainment of “brahmabhuta” – literally, ‘become Brahman’ – signifies a transcendence of the dualistic perception of self and other, a dissolution of the egoic center into the infinite. This is not merely intellectual understanding, but a realized experience of being identical with the ultimate reality, a state of abiding akshaya – indestructible and unchanging – mirroring the eternal nature of Brahman. The yogī, through sustained meditative practice, effectively removes the limitations of individual consciousness, moving beyond the fluctuations of the prāṇa and the subtle channels (nāḍī) to dwell in the profound stillness of the divine source. It is a return to the primordial state, a homecoming to the undifferentiated unity that underlies all existence.
