मूर्च्छ

Mūrcchā

pranayama

Swoon prāṇāyāma, in which breath retention is prolonged to the threshold of syncope, inducing a trance state. The Haṭha Pradīpikā (2.69) presents it as a technique for stilling the mind through the extreme suspension of prāṇa. Its practice requires prior mastery of kumbhaka and is considered advanced, as it operates at the frontier between consciousness and unconsciousness.
