सिंहासन

Siṃhāsana

asana

Lion pose. Āsana in which the fingers rest upon the knees, the mouth opens wide, and the gaze is directed to the nasagra (the spot between the eyebrows). The Gheraṇḍa Saṃhitā (2.19-20) describes it as a destroyer of disease and a stimulant of viśuddhi chakra. Its practice activates the facial muscles and throat, facilitating the purification of phlegm. It is associated with the fierce energy of the lion and the opening of [[vishuddhi]].
