pranayamaCooling prāṇāyāma in which inhalation is performed through the tongue curled into a tube, cooling the body from within. The Haṭha Pradīpikā (2.54-55) prescribes it to alleviate fever, hunger, thirst, and pitta imbalances. Its name derives from śīta (cold), and it is considered one of the most accessible techniques for calming internal heat and purifying the blood.
