Śītalī — the cooling one. Similar to Sītkārī but inhaling through the mouth with the tongue rolled into a tube, not between the teeth.

“Destroyer of hunger and thirst” — it reduces appetite and the need for liquids. It cools the digestive system and calms metabolic fire.

It is a lunar, refrigerating prāṇāyāma. It balances excess heat and active energy.
