Viparīta

“Inverted / Reversed”. Term designating inversion practices, especially the reversal of flows: the solar current ([[sūrya]]) upward and the lunar current ([[candra]]) downward.

In the Gorakṣa Śataka, viparīta-karaṇa is described as the technique by which the yogi inverts the energetic flows through [[prāṇāyāma]] and [[mudrā]] practice, obtaining the [[pīyūṣa]] that bestows immortality.
