Chapter 18 · Verse 39
न शान्तिं लभते मूढो यतः शमितुमिच्छति
na śāntiṃ labhate mūḍho yataḥ śamitumicchati | dhīrastattvaṃ viniścitya sarvadā
In chapter 18 (Janaka’s liberation), verse 39 deepens the teaching of non-duality. In Advaita Vedānta philosophy, this verse of the Aṣṭāvakra Gītā reveals that freedom is inherent to the Self and requires no acquisition.
