Chapter 18 · Verse 98
मुक्तो यथास्थितिस्वस्थः कृतकर्तव्यनिर्वृतः
mukto yathāsthitisvasthaḥ kṛtakartavyanirvṛtaḥ | samaḥ sarvatra vaitṛṣṇyānna sma
In chapter 18 (Janaka’s liberation), verse 98 deepens the teaching of non-duality. In Advaita Vedānta philosophy, this verse of the Aṣṭāvakra Gītā reveals that freedom is inherent to the Self and requires no acquisition.
