The allied list continues with key figures. Kāśya is the king of Kāśī (Benares), parameṣvāsaḥ (the best archer, the one of supreme great bow). His inclusion is significant: Kāśī had been conquered by the Pāṇḍavas at Yudhiṣṭhira’s rājasūya, demonstrating that their power attracts allies, not just subjugation.

Śikhaṇḍī is crucial to the narrative: destined to kill Bhīṣma, who refuses to fight against one who was a woman in a previous life. Dhṛṣṭadyumna, son of Drupada and brother of Draupadī, was born specifically to kill Droṇa. Sātyaki (Yuyudhāna) is aparājitaḥ — never defeated.
