दण्डो दमयतामस्मि नीतिरस्मि जिगीषताम् | मौनं चैवास्मि गुह्यानां ज्ञानं ज्ञानवतामहम्

daṇḍo damayatām asmi nītir asmi jigīṣatām | maunaṃ caivāsmi guhyānāṃ jñānaṃ jñānavatām aham

I am the punishment of the punishers; of those who seek victory I am morality; I am silence among secrets; and I am the knowledge of the knowers.

Damayatām — of those who govern/pacify — daṇḍaḥ — the force of punishment, justice. Jigīṣatām — of those who desire conquest — nītiḥ — ethical policy.

Guhyānām — of secret things — maunam — the silence that protects them. Jñānavatām — of those who have knowledge — jñānam — knowledge itself, as a transcendental category.
