Kṣetra-Kṣetrajña Yoga · Verse 14
सर्वतः पाणिपादं तत्सर्वतोऽक्षिशिरोमुखम् | सर्वतः श्रुतिमल्लोके सर्वमावृत्य तिष्ठति
sarvataḥ pāṇi-pādaṃ tat sarvato 'kṣi-śiro-mukham | sarvataḥ śrutimal loke sarvam āvṛtya tiṣṭhati
Everywhere has hands and feet, everywhere eyes, heads and mouths, everywhere has ears in the world, pervading all it remains.
A metaphorical description of the omnipresence of the Supreme. Not that Brahman has literal limbs, but that it possesses the capacity for all actions and perceptions throughout existence.
This passage echoes the Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad (3.16) and Kaṭha Upaniṣad (5.1). The Upaniṣads describe the Absolute as having no eyes yet seeing all, no ears yet hearing all.
The apparent contradiction — having organs yet pervading all — is resolved by understanding these as functional capacities rather than physical attributes.
