Akṣara-Parabrahman Yoga · Verse 2
Who and how is the adhiyajña in this body? Oh Madhusūdana! And how are You known by self-controlled beings at the time of death?
Additional question: adhiyajñaḥ — who presides over sacrifices, the puruṣa who receives oblations, present in the deha (body).
The crucial question: prayāṇa-kāle kathaṃ jñeyaḥ asi — how are You known at the moment of death? This anticipates the central teaching of chapter 8: what is remembered at death determines destiny.
