Hīnaṃ dhammaṃ na seveyya, pamādena na saṃvase; micchādiṭṭhiṃ na seveyya, na siyā lokavaḍḍhano.

Hīnaṃ dhammaṃ na seveyya, pamādena na saṃvase; micchādiṭṭhiṃ na seveyya, na siyā lokavaḍḍhano.

Do not follow inferior teachings, do not live with negligence; do not follow wrong views, do not increase attachment to the world.

Hīnaṃ dhammaṃ na seveyya — do not follow inferior teachings: hīna dhamma are practices or teachings of low quality — those that lead to attachment, aversion, or confusion rather than liberation.

Pamādena na saṃvase — do not live with negligence: pamāda is spiritual negligence, lack of diligence, the opposite of appamāda. Living with negligence is wasting the opportunity of human birth.

Micchādiṭṭhiṃ na seveyya — do not follow wrong views: micchā-diṭṭhi are incorrect views about the nature of reality. In Buddhism, right view (sammā-diṭṭhi) is the first factor of the Eightfold Path and its foundation.

Na siyā lokavaḍḍhano — do not increase attachment to the world: loka-vaḍḍhana is what makes the world grow — attachment to the world, emotional investment in the transient. The teaching is not anti-world but anti-attachment-to-the-world.
