Rāga-samodhānaṁ vanta-kassa, vāta-samodhānañ ca bhava-samodhānaṁ; Vaṭṭaṁ santaṁ itthattaṁ, taṁ nirodhaṁ arahaṁ pajānāti.

Rāga-samodhānaṁ vanta-kassa, vāta-samodhānañ ca bhava-samodhānaṁ; vaṭṭaṁ santaṁ itthattaṁ, taṁ nirodhaṁ arahaṁ pajānāti.

One who has vomited passion, freed from wind, freed from becoming; having understood this cycle, knowing its cessation, the worthy one understands.

Vanta-kassa — having vomited. The metaphor is strong: desire is like something poisonous that must be expelled, not just abstained from consuming.

Vaṭṭaṁ santaṁ — the cycle of becoming. Samsāra is not a place, it is a circular process. Breaking the cycle is not escaping to another place, it is stopping the spin.
