Tṛtīyopadeśaḥ (Mudrā) · Verse 15

इयं खलु महामुद्रा महा-सिद्धैः प्रदर्शिता | महा-क्लेशादयो दोषाः क्षीयन्ते मरणादयः

iyaṃ khalu mahāmudrā mahā-siddhaiḥ pradarśitā | mahā-kleśādayo doṣāḥ kṣīyante maraṇādayaḥ

This Mahāmudrā has been shown by the great siddhas;by it great sufferings (kleśas) and other defects, including death, are destroyed.

Mahā-siddhaiḥ pradarśitā — shown by the great siddhas — establishes the lineage of this practice.Siddhas are yogis who have achieved perfection and supernatural powers; His testimony validates the efficacy of Mahāmudrā.

Mahā-kleśādayo doṣāḥ — the great sufferings and other defects. The kleśas in the yogic tradition are the fundamental afflictions: ignorance (avidyā), selfishness (asmitā), attachment (rāga), aversion (dveṣa), and fear of death (abhiniveśa).

Maraṇādayaḥ — including death and so on.The regular practice of Mahāmudrā not only alleviates psychological suffering but, according to the text, transcends bodily limitations including mortality. This should be understood as spiritual liberation rather than physical immortality.
