Prakaraṇa 4 · Verse 37

कष्ट-बुद्धिं परित्यज्य शान्ति-बुद्धिं समाश्रयेत्, ततः कष्टं न बाधेत शान्ति-मात्रं भवेद् ध्रुवम्

kaṣṭa-buddhiṃ parityajya śānti-buddhiṃ samāśrayet, tataḥ kaṣṭaṃ na bādheta śānti-mātraṃ bhaved dhruvam

Abandoning the mind of difficulty, taking refuge in the mind of peace, then difficulty does not disturb; peace alone remains stable.

The instruction is unequivocally direct: parityajya—abandon—and samāśraya—take refuge. There is no intervening analysis, no negotiation with the kaṣṭa-buddhi. The transition is fundamentally one of identification: from identifying with the agitated mind to identifying with the mind abiding in peace.
