Prathama-prakaraṇam (Yama) · Verse 45
वक्ष्याम्यङ्गानि ते सम्यग्यथा पूर्वं मया श्रुतम् । समाहितमना गार्गी ऋषिभिः सह संशृणु ॥
vakṣyāmyaṅgāni te samyagyathā pūrvaṃ mayā śrutam | samāhitamanā gārgi ṛṣibhiḥ saha saṃśṛṇu ||
Yājñavalkya will now expound the aṅgāni — the limbs of yoga — as he received them (yathā pūrvaṃ mayā śrutam). The term śruta here carries the weight of revealed knowledge, not mere hearing. Gārgī and the ṛṣis are instructed to listen with concentrated minds (samāhitamanā), indicating that the systematic exposition demands the same receptive quality as the initial invocation.
