Adharma

Unrighteousness, injustice, disorder, that which violates dharma. From the privative prefix a- + dharma.

In the Bhagavad-gītā, the conflict between the Pāṇḍavas and Kauravas represents the cosmic struggle between dharma and adharma. When adharma predominates, it degrades society and disturbs the cosmic cycles; hence warriors must act to restore order.

Adharma is not mere moral failure but a rupture in the harmony of existence. It manifests as oppression, deceit, and the denial of others’ rightful place in the social and cosmic order.
