Mokṣa-Sannyāsa Yoga · Verse 31
यया धर्ममधर्मं च कार्यं चाकार्यमेव च | अयथावत्प्रजानाति बुद्धिः सा पार्थ राजसी
yayā dharmam adharmaṃ ca kāryaṃ cākāryam eva ca | ayathāvat prajānāti buddhiḥ sā pārtha rājasī
By which one knows incorrectly dharma and adharma, what should be done and what should not — that intelligence is rājasic, oh Pārtha.
Rājasic intelligence: ayathāvat — incorrectly, not according to reality. Confuses dharma with adharma, duty with non-duty.
Sees good as evil and vice versa, distorted by desires and aversions. Knowledge is partial, biased by interests.
