Gulma

Abdominal tumor, pathological hardening of the solar plexus. In the Haṭha Pradīpikā, gulma appears among the diseases that yoga destroys when practice is correct and sustained. The Gheraṇḍa Saṃhitā associates it with disorders of the [[maṇipūra-cakra]] and recommends the [[ṣaṭkarma]] — particularly nauli and dhauti — as treatment. Gulma reflects the āyurvédic view of the body: disease as stagnation of doṣa that yoga mobilizes and purifies.
