Seeing Your mouths terrible with fangs, resembling the fire of death, I know not the directions, nor do I find refuge; be merciful, oh Lord of gods, oh abode of the universe.

Daṃṣṭrā-karālāni mukhāni — mouths terrible with fangs — like destructive time. Kālānala-sannibhāni — resembling the fire of death (kāla + anala).

Diśaḥ na jāne — I know not the directions — total disorientation. Na labhe śarma — I find not refuge — without protection.

Prasīda — be merciful, be propitious — devotional supplication. Deveśa — Lord of gods. Jagat-nivāsa — abode of the universe — the universe rests in Him.
