All this universe is pervaded by Me in My unmanifested form. All beings are in Me, but I am not in them.

One of the Gītā’s most subtle declarations. The cosmic manifestation (jagat) is completely pervaded (tatam) by divine consciousness, yet the Lord remains avyakta-mūrtinā — in unmanifested form.

Mat-sthāni: all beings rest in Him as waves in the ocean. But the relationship is not reciprocal: na cāhaṃ teṣv avasthitaḥ — He is not contained by them. This is the difference between brahman nirguṇa (impersonal) and bhagavān (personal).

The Lord is the support of all, but nothing is His support. This apparent paradox resolves the mystery of how the immense can reside in the infinitesimal.
