Rāja-Vidyā-Rāja-Guhya Yoga · Verse 3
अश्रद्दधानाः पुरुषा धर्मस्यास्य परन्तप | अप्राप्य मां निवर्तन्ते मृत्युसंसारवर्त्मनि
aśraddadhānāḥ puruṣā dharmasyāsya parantapa | aprāpya māṃ nivartante mṛtyu-saṃsāra-vartmani
Those who lack faith in this religious virtue, O chastiser of the enemy, without attaining Me, return to the path of death and material birth.
Here the consequence of rejecting this knowledge is established. Aśraddadhānāḥ — without faith, without śraddhā — are those who cannot tune into the revealed truth. It is not a matter of intellect, but of receptivity of the heart.
Mṛtyu-saṃsāra-vartmani: the cycle of death and rebirth. Vartman means path or way, implying continuity. Those who do not take refuge in the Lord remain revolving on the wheel of saṃsāra.
For Arjuna, called parantapa (chastiser of enemies), the message is clear: even warriors must develop the faith necessary to escape this cycle.
